The Philippine Journal, is published by the Philippine Journal Group of Companies with offices at 3181 East 53rd Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia, V5S 1W4, Canada.  The publication is now on its 23rd year and is the oldest Filipino publication in British Columbia.  

Irene C. Yatco

Irene Yatco is the Publisher/Editor-in-chief of Philippine Journal, a Filipino Canadian community newspaper distributed in Vancouver, Canada.  Her vast business experience includes having owned  a floor covering retail store, general manager, controller of a property development company, and event planner and organizer of concerts and festivals.  A strong community leader, Irene has worked extensively on projects with various sectors of the community, helping new immigrants, supporting seniors’ programs, and advocating changes that would improve people’s lives. She is a former director and Vice-President of the Multicultural Helping House Society, a non-profit organization devoted to helping new immigrants settle in Canada.  Irene was a candidate for Member or Parliament  in the 2011 federal election.

Lilia S. Tiamzon


Lilia graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, major in Marketing and Management.  Her long successful sales career includes the marketing of  insurance, pharmaceuticals, and real estate. Her more than 30 years in real estate sales have won her outstanding sales achievement awards. Lilia is also involved in community service, especially fundraisers for a variety of causes such as BC Children's Hospital, Red Cross and other charities.   She is also co-publisher of Philippine Journal, a Vancouver community newspaper.
